It is tempting to turn to the news of the day for topics, but there are thousands of blogs doing that. This blog intentionally tries to avoid current news and concentrate on underlying long-term issues. But adequately researching and addressing such issues can take a while*, and readers tend to stop checking blogs that do not receive new posts on a frequent basis.
This is not a fault of the readers, who have limited time and a huge amount of available information to sort through. Most people have jobs, and families, and hobbies. Their lives do not and should not revolve around blog posts or the news cycle.
But this is a small example of a problem that permeates our entire society with major news outlets introducing a story as though it were a crisis, and then quietly dropping coverage of the story without following it through to resolution, as they introduce a different, and occasionally conflicting, story as though it were a crisis. It is easy to become overwhelmed with such a large volume of information of such low quality.
So I really appreciate the patience of you, my readers, however few of you there may be. Thanks.
