The United States of America, the first modern nation and inspiration for the world, in many ways the greatest nation in history, is in decline. This blog is not about who to blame. Rather this blog envisions a new and revitalized United States and suggests reforms designed to allow the American dream to survive for future generations.
Let’s not deceive ourselves. The United States, as powerful as it still is, is in a tight spot. We have been borrowing, not to invest, but to spend at unsustainable levels. Our intellectual, working, and political classes have become distrustful of each other, leading to protests and violence in our streets. Other nations, noticing our decline, are challenging our interests around the world and even here at home.
This blog is divided into two main parts. The reform section contains specific suggestions about how we can work together deal with specific issues and is only updated when the writer has a new idea or becomes aware of a significant flaw in his work. The blog section discusses whatever interests the writer that week. (Before any of that can happen, however, the author needs to learn more about how to use WordPress to structure a website.)
